Gary Raven

Gary Raven

Managing Director
Business Bio: Gary is our Managing Director – taking overall responsibility for the delivery of great client service within a proactive and developing range of service offerings.

Gary hates bean-counting – his interest lies in delivering business development and client support services that are tailored to maximise the value that Barrons can provide to assist our clients in delivering their dreams and aspirations.

Gary draws upon a wide range of business expertise having operated in industry and undertaken numerous consultancy roles in a turnaround and interim management capacity, as well as having worked extensively within the Banking industry developing client business plans and projections as well as supporting Bank independent reporting assignments.

Gary is a qualified Fellow of the Institute of Chartered Accountants.

Personal Bio: Gary is a devoted sports fan, and is very easily lost to most sports that are there to be supported, particularly where England are concerned!

An avid supporter of rugby and cricket in particular, Gary was proud to be present as England won the 2003 Rugby World Cup in Australia and made the final of the 2007 Rugby World Cup in France (and is ready with tickets for a repeat of the 2003 win in England in 2015) and considers himself privileged to have been at Edgbaston in 2005 when England won the pivotal Second Test against the Aussies when a certain Freddie Flintoff came to town…

Add to that attendance at Olympics 2012, seeing Usaine Bolt win the 100m and Christine Ohuruogu the silver in the 400m one week and then Luke Campbell win gold the next, and many boxing trips including watching Lewis fight Holyfield at Madison Square Gardens…

And did I mention tennis, football, horse racing…

Other interests are, of course, my family, personal training and walking.

Russell Tillbrook

Statutory Services Director
Business Bio: Russell is a Director of the Practice, who specialises in handling the delivery of statutory accounting and auditing services by the firm as well as taking a keen interest in supporting start-up business.

Russell is keen to build long term networking relationships and invests a good proportion of his time in developing contacts that he hopes will prove beneficial to both the Practice and the clients generally. Unlike Gary, Russell enjoys the statutory side of the business and has been instrumental in setting up a benchmarking service that is allied to the annual reporting function.

Having been with Barrons since 2001, Russell qualified with the Practice and has progressed through the firm to become a Partner and the Practice RI, as well as taking responsibility for the Compliance function of the Practice ICAEW registration.

Personal Bio: Having recently had to hang up his boots and end his illustrious (?) football playing days and, seeking something just as painful to do at weekends, Russell has become a season ticket holder at Southend United.

Russell enjoys playing golf and badminton on a regular basis when not spending time with his wife Elaine and three young daughters.
