Core Responsibilities

  • Posting clients records on to accounting software (Sage, Xero & QuickBooks)
  • Preparation of VAT returns and online filing with HMRC
  • Building and maintaining client relationships
  • Ensuring all work is completed timely and within budget
  • Utilising Microsoft Office (notably Excel) to maximise accurate and timely output
  • Meeting all deadlines with an efficient and effective service
  • Completing Timesheets and checklists accurately
  • Resolving client queries
  • Reconciling balance sheet nominals
  • Reviewing completed works to ensure accuracy
  • Visiting client premises to carry out bookkeeping onsite
  • Maintaining knowledge on Sage, Xero and QuickBooks
  • Utilising and identifying third-party apps to improve the efficiency of the processes.


Desirable Skills and Experience

  • Strong Excel Skills
  • Previous experience working in an accounts/bookkeeping role
  • Minimum level 2 AAT, level 3 preferred.
  • Ideally proficient in Sage Line 50
  • With experience using Xero and/or QuickBooks
  • Uses initiative and be pro-active
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Excellent attention to detail
  • Outstanding organisation skills
  • Ability to work to deadlines and manage a diverse portfolio of clients
  • Someone who takes pride in their work and in offering a first-class service
  • Comfortable working within a fast-paced working environment
  • Team player
