Core Responsibilities
- Posting clients records on to accounting software (Sage, Xero & QuickBooks)
- Preparation of VAT returns and online filing with HMRC
- Building and maintaining client relationships
- Ensuring all work is completed timely and within budget
- Utilising Microsoft Office (notably Excel) to maximise accurate and timely output
- Meeting all deadlines with an efficient and effective service
- Completing Timesheets and checklists accurately
- Resolving client queries
- Reconciling balance sheet nominals
- Reviewing completed works to ensure accuracy
- Visiting client premises to carry out bookkeeping onsite
- Maintaining knowledge on Sage, Xero and QuickBooks
- Utilising and identifying third-party apps to improve the efficiency of the processes.
Desirable Skills and Experience
- Strong Excel Skills
- Previous experience working in an accounts/bookkeeping role
- Minimum level 2 AAT, level 3 preferred.
- Ideally proficient in Sage Line 50
- With experience using Xero and/or QuickBooks
- Uses initiative and be pro-active
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Excellent attention to detail
- Outstanding organisation skills
- Ability to work to deadlines and manage a diverse portfolio of clients
- Someone who takes pride in their work and in offering a first-class service
- Comfortable working within a fast-paced working environment
- Team player
