Don’t miss 10 June deadline for furlough

Employers are reminded that 10 June is the last date for starting furlough for staff to claim a grant under the Coronavirus Job Retention Scheme (CJRS).

On 30 June the Job Retention Scheme will close to employees who have not been furloughed for a three-week period under the Scheme. This means today is the last day that you can seek to furlough someone who has never been furloughed before.

The new Scheme will assist employers to start to return employees to work through flexi-furloughing – essentially you will assess and agree part time working hours (that you will pay for) whilst the Government will top up contractual earnings to the historic levels as previously.

The Scheme runs until 31 October, at which point it will close – it is expected to be invaluable to employers in controlling costs and operational levels as demand for services begins to rebuild.
